Join us on a unique walking tour in Vorbasse, where we explore the origins of one of Denmark's largest markets, Vorbasse Market. This time-traveling journey begins at the holy spring near Vorbasse Church, a mystical source of water that, in 1130, attracted the sick and disabled in the hope of healing through the spring's pure waters.
Our walk brings history to life as we imagine Vorbasse around the year 1130. This small community transformed belief in miraculous water into a thriving marketplace. The townspeople saw a unique opportunity to earn money by selling goods like beer, food, warm clothing, and woolen socks to the many pilgrims. What started as an annual 'spring day' grew into the renowned spring market, and even after the Reformation's dismissal of pilgrimages, the tradition continued thanks to Vorbasse's strategic location along the Hærvejen.
This walking tour is not just a trip through time; it's an invitation to see and understand the cultural history that has shaped Vorbasse and its famous market. Join us and discover the many stories hidden in this charming town.

You find Mark Museum close to Billund, tucked in between the beautiful nature of the harsh moor and the lush meadow, that both carry the marks of human activity through thousands of years. Through city walks in Billund and Vorbasse and fun activities at the Museum Farm Karensminde, you learn the history of how Denmark has developed. We use the last 400 years of history of agriculture, industry, and tourism as the framework for a different kind of museum experience, that leaves a mark.
